BACKGROUND
I began training in bodywork while living in Central America, way back in 1986. I lived there for nearly four years (se habla espanol).
I hold a NYS massage license since 1991.
Since then I've explored countless body-oriented approaches. The disciplines that have most shaped me as a bodyworker are:
-- polarity/energy balancing and biodynamic craniosacral work;
-- movement practices of yoga, yoga therapy, and Pilates.
In addition, my experience includes
-- volunteering with hospice as a massage therapist, working with dying people and their caregivers;
-- serving on the inaugural ethics committee of the United States Association for Body Psychotherapy.
I've also been a professional athletics official (field hockey!), and I have decades as a professional harpist and horse farmer, both of which I still do today (see newyorkharpist.com and bigriverbarn.com).
